The Democrats may want to be careful what they wish for

 

The Democrats better have a plan and a real good one. The next two years potentially could be a disaster economically if we are not careful. Sure we would love to get rid of the massive corruption running amok in our government, yet if things go south Democrats could take the blame if they have the majority in both houses of Congress.

Voters have short memories, way too short in my eyes. 2028 could come around and things be an absolute mess and Republicans could start blaming Democrats. It wouldn’t take much for them to do that.

The Democrats better create a plan, strong messaging, follow up, be able to pivot to how the world changes and keep the heat on the Republicans the whole time so they can say we are working on it come 2028.

And it better not be budget busting give away the house promises. We need to start reigning in spending and unfortunately raise taxes to start cutting into that deficit and debt. So their tax plan needs to be heavy towards the rich and give everyone else help. And that won’t work because the rich will do everything in their power including propping up more puppet Republicans and lobbying like heck to prevent raises.

So yes I know the Democrats want to win, but that may be a loss if they don’t do more immediately.

So we still need new parties, new leadership and new ideas because the Democrats are still clueless, will still make mistakes and the three things we need the most right now; work on the debt and deficit, making social security and medicare stronger, and rebuilding trust amongst our allies including trade will take real work, not pie in the sky ideas.

And there are numerous secondary issues such as realigning with Ukraine over Russia; overhauling the executive branch to rid the country of certain overreach and this includes and is more than just Trump’s bs executive orders; figuring out a real healthcare plan; what to do with AI, fixing all the Trump construction projects which may mean one of them will need to be finished in a much better way along with finding the right people to complete it; getting money and especially dark money out of politics plus other campaign reform such as rules for redistricting; and the list goes on.

And yes sitting there just throwing a wrench into the entirety of the above is the war with Iran. And even if they win Congress they will have very little power to affect that war until they can remove most of the corruption so they can reign in the Pentagon’s spending and put pressure on who survives in the White House if Trump dies of old age. Good luck with all that.

This midterms are upon us, yet after forty plus years of worsening policy from both parties, I don’t see much hope for the Democrats until they realize they need to change from within. The country still doesn’t view them favorably and just bashing Trump won’t help.

Folks it is time for change, yet I just do not see change on the horizon.
