A couple of topics: traveling post pandemic/pandemic? and apparently there is a new choice

And by the way football training camps are underway, who knew. I apparently didn’t as I see an article for the second day of camp for the Dallas Cowboys. I am still mad at them for that disaster of a playoff game last year so not catching you yet.

And some democrats and republicans are starting a new third party and sounding like democrats and republicans just not calling each other names at the moment. I think I saw they were calling themselves the Forward Party or that was a theme or something. I barely read one article on them, but have seen a couple blurbs since then. If they manage to correct their attitude and start acting like something different it might be fun to check them out. The one attempt they are making at being successful is to say they are moderates. Since half the country is tired of the extremes they might last. We will see and I will update as I research more.

We went on a road trip recently. Unfortunately not a vacation, but when I came back everyone asks if I had a nice vacation. Don’t know what to tell them. We were very busy and accomplished somethings we wanted and some items on the to do list were left undone.

I do want to thank all the travelers who post reviews on hotels. There was a point where we stayed in four different hotels over four nights. We were picking hotels/motels as we were driving from point to point. The reviews were very helpful. We managed to find some bargain bin pricing and had fairly decent hotels. Overall at least they were clean, not too many amenities, but since we were moving on each morning that was not a concern. The reviews helped us avoid some potential disasters so we greatly appreciate your efforts. We do on rare occasion will write a review, but we haven’t yet from this trip. I sit here writing all this recognizing I am chumping out future travelers by not contributing.

I do want to give a shout out to TJ’s Diner in Farmington, New Mexico. Yes we were that far off the beaten road (ie I-40). The service was great, everyone was friendly and courteous. And if you do not care about your heart, you definitely should check out the one car pile up. Two car pile up is probably illegal in health food stores, yet why not if you do not care. And their biscuits are what biscuits should be everywhere. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast there.

If you haven’t driven across the Southwestern states, make some time to do so. Deserts broken up by small mountain ranges make for some excellent vistas. The sky is blue and stretches forever. I have always loved driving across Texas, New Mexico and Arizona and this past trip was no different. If you think it seems to all run together you are not paying close enough attention to the details.

Overall some people were wearing masks and some weren’t so with covid numbers rising again, it was nice to see some people still thinking about others by wearing a mask. Why this became political is beyond me? Wearing a mask is just basic common sense and common courtesy. They get tiresome I do agree, but if you wear them regularly taking them off every now and then for a moment is probably okay. And of course general outdoor activities really doesn’t require wearing a mask especially with any breeze blowing. Hiking across some desert land to get somewhere requires a naked face.

Again we accomplished some things, other items still need to be addressed, but we did manage to squeeze in some extra stops and some items not on the bucket list were crossed off the bucket list. I do not care what you believe, but it never hurts to stop and appreciate what God has given to us on this beautiful planet and what was created for us to marvel.

And for the first time in quite a while. Cheers!

And on a post note, I am still adding episodes of a Dallas based podcast to my youtube page. I do not add them regularly, however I am trying to keep up with them sooner or later.
