You are not sick till the Doctor says you are sick and other assorted matters

Yep, it is that time when you have to make the round of doctors and tests and poking and prodding and other general discomforts and listen to someone say this or that and you have no desire to do any of it. So it goes. And you spend two or three days or so waiting on something called results all the while hoping they don’t find something or worry they missed something and then a week later you go back to your normal day to day worries. So good news is all my results are survivable and just waiting on the better half to finish up her visits and maybe we can not think about anything for a bit.

Being open is a relative term.

You go into the store and the hours say open till 11:00pm, yet there is no one at the counter and you do not hear any noises and it is 9pm. Finally someone comes out wheeling a bunch of empty trays and takes your order. In reality though I understand that restaurant workers have to make certain deadlines in getting the store cleaned up because they are always under pressure from management who are under pressure from corporate to keep labor costs down. And I am sure there is more pressure being exerted from the corporate overlords about labor costs considering all businesses have been through over the last year and a half. Still when you walk in you do want to get your order in so you can begin to eat it before tomorrow’s breakfast. So I don’t blame the worker and I am have tempted to call out the company by name, but who wants to destroy business and put more people out of work, not that anyone is listening anyway.

And going back to good health or at least some facsimile of it, we spent the better part of this past weekend breathing in real air and doing outdoor activities so my muscles actually felt like they moved. And I was a bit surprised my muscles weren’t that sore since we had put in a few hours of actually using them. So feeling good that I could walk away and still walk away upright. It was a bit hot, well very hot with tons of humidity so burnt through a few calories on top of everything.

And then there is looking at pictures. The better half loves to take pictures so she was going through the ones she just took and downloading them to a computer which always leads to looking at older pictures which makes you want to go on vacation all over again; and then again, and then again; and then again. We were looking at Lake Tahoe and that is so hard to believe we were there because it is such a beautiful place and now it seems to be a distant memory. The pictures seem surreal and it becomes harder and harder to visualize exactly what you were doing when you took the pictures. And if she starts pulling up family vacation photos, well there goes the memory banks completely. I can always remember being there and can remember the there, but never what everyone was up to leading to the picture being taken, unless it was taken in a restaurant, well sort of.

Here’s to your vacations: Cheers
